Duties & Responsibilities of our Lawyers
As a solicitor, the role is challenging and demanding.
You must undertake all necessary works required for the carriage of client files, whilst also ensuring efficient service and maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures set out in the Behan Legal policies & procedures.
Solicitors must participate in a variety of non-billable areas including community development, continuing legal education and company management philosophy. Solicitors are salaried employees and as such must achieve their billing targets set by the company.
Solicitors will preserve, protect and enhance the goodwill of the company, actively market the products and services of the company and undertake all reasonable endeavours to recruit new clients to the company.
Functions
¨ Client conferences and taking of instructions
¨ Provide technical advice and assistance to clients
¨ Document preparation
¨ Courtroom advocacy for clients on smaller matters
¨ Briefing of Counsel
¨ Advise on both commercial and legal basis
¨ Presentations of company services
¨ Presentations at company workshops and seminars
¨ Provide advice and directions for support staff
¨ Assist in professional development of the company and staff
¨ Represent the company in community activities
¨ Provide and develop new clients and new areas of work
